  Member Communication

Communications among our membership is a very important aspect of the Atlanta Fly
Fishing Club
.

Many of our members do not always have the opportunity to attend our monthly
meetings due to other personal and business commitments; or, they are members
that can not attend
our meetings due to geographic obstacles such as "too far to drive",
"live in North, or South, Georgia", "live out-of-state", "get home too late" after a
meeting, etc.

Our $20 per year membership fee ($30 Family of Two) is a small price to pay to stay
connected to a group of like-minded members that pursue the sport of fly fishing in cold,
warm and saltwater -- with enthusiasm!

Here are the primary methods that the AFFC communicates with it's membership:

1. Club Newsletter -- produced monthly by our Newsletter Editor. Lots of good stuff
     here.

2. Email via "Yahoo! Groups" -- Yahoo! Groups serves as the conduit for the most
timely information. Do not repond to a Yahoo! Groups member message as they will
not receive your reply. Instead, utilize the club roster and email the individual directly
    with your response.

3. AFFC Web Site -- Plenty of links and information plus details about the Atlanta Fly
Fishing Club. Check out all the "Learn to Fly Fish" and other videos on the site.

4. Club Meetings -- Monthly meetings are held at Manuel's Tavern. See the map for
    location.

5. Fly Fishing Trips -- Minimum of once a month fly fishing trip the Saturday after
each meeting. Members get together in small groups to fish streams and other
waters throughout the Southeast. Also, AFFC members coordinate trips to
out-of-state destinations. Actual fly fishing trips together, whether locally or further
away from home, ranks as one of the most rewarding means of communication as
you get to know one another both on and off the water.

6. Education & Tune-up's -- Whether it is your own education, or assisting others to
learn, communication is key to a great experience.

7. Fly Tying -- A communications conduit that plays a significant role at AFFC, fly
tying and related clinics boost your knowledge and establish new friendships along
the way. This activity is lead by our Fly Tying Director.

8. Fly Casting -- AFFC fly casting clinics are lead by AFFC's Fly Casting Director.
All members are invited to the clinic sessions to take full advantage of this great
resource to improve your casting skills and get to know fellow AFFC members.
